The South African Football Association has invited tenders for construction of dressing rooms, ablution facilities and back-to-back grandstands. A compulsory briefing is scheduled for September 1, 2026, from 09:30 to 13:00 at SAFA House, 76 Nasrec Road, Johannesburg.
Tenderers must comply with SANS 10400 national building regulations, relevant SABS material and safety standards, Construction Industry Development Board grading rules and Master Builders Association registration. Applicants are expected to hold, or qualify to upgrade to, CIDB Grade 7 General Building status. Assessment covers annual turnover, available capital and a completed General Building contract worth at least R9 million during the preceding five years. A Grade 7 GB contractor may generally bid for work up to R60 million including VAT, while qualifying potentially emerging contractors may tender one grade higher for contracts up to R200 million. Joint ventures may combine their capacity.
Submissions must include team curricula vitae and proof of professional registrations, evidence of completed grandstand, sports complex, stadium or hospitality work, client references, a turnkey delivery method, a preliminary programme with milestones and a site-optimisation strategy.
Compliant bids will be weighted and ranked, with the highest score recommended subject to the employer’s discretion. SAFA may reject any or all bids, accept the offer it considers most advantageous and verify submitted information.
Two hard copies and an electronic copy on a memory stick must be deposited in a sealed envelope in the tender box at the main entrance to SAFA House by 17:00 on September 30, 2026. Documents must be signed, dated and certified where applicable. Late bids and email submissions will not be accepted. Queries may be sent to [email protected].
